Derek Laney
Derek is the resident technology evangelist for Salesforce based in Australia. As a technology professional with over 25 years of experience spanning various roles, Derek has been a startup developer, product manager, consultant, offshore development leader, solutions engineer, and product marketing executive. His current focuses are the Future of Work and Generative AI.
He has a keen eye for tech trends and customer success, and he leverages this knowledge to facilitate executive briefings, workshops, speaking engagements, and customer meetings.
Derek spent 17 years at Salesforce and associated companies, collaborating with the ecosystem and the local technology industry in Australia, Asia, and India to explore digital and customer experience. Salesforce is one of Fortune’s most admired companies, best places to work for 12 years in a row and one of People magazine’s top companies that care. He spent two years as Slack technology evangelist, nine years leading product marketing teams, six years in solutions consulting, and eight years developing and implementing software.
Besides his professional engagements, Derek is a passionate supporter of the Circle the Schools program in Australia, which aims to bridge the education gap caused by disadvantages. He believes in making work simpler, more pleasant, and more productive. He enjoys experimenting with his work life sharing time between Salesforce’s Innovation Centres and his home in the Sunshine Coast, Australia.

Max Bojovic is an Account Executive in Salesforce’s Commercial team based in Brisbane. He collaborates with businesses to deliver Salesforce solutions that drive customer acquisition, improve sales efficiency, and enhance service delivery. Known for his expertise in cloud computing and strategic negotiation, Max helps businesses unlock new growth opportunities through data-driven insights and automation. With a strong understanding of the unique challenges faced by medium-sized enterprises, he helps customers to tailor Salesforce's offerings to align with each their strategic goals, enabling them to have a measurable impact and lasting success.
